in japan, in a remote time
when the spirits of nature still reign, raido -the amnesic ronin-
wanders without goal. mysterious voices speaking about death haunt his
spirit and will -sooner or later- lead him to madness. in the quest for
his past, he arrives at the city that speaks with the sky, ultimate
rampart against the ice that unrelentingly advances in these forgotten
lands.
the wood puppets of the bunraku, moved by
the skillful hands of young meiki, contain the murky story of the
scarlet clouds. after the meeting of the puppeteer with the ronin, the
fables seem to become increasingly real in the eyes of meiki. poisonous
wolves, hostile divinities, former samurai warriors who follow the way
of the sword... the world is reversed, the puppeteers become puppets
whose strings are pulled by ancient revengeful divinities. the shogun of
the city seeks to dissimulate all that, while the white ice expanses
advance as if submerging and purifying his crimes.
